Located in the beautiful coastal city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, AMI strives to cultivate only the finest-quality Cannabis available – Cannabis that is as fresh and vibrant as the ocean air we breathe.

With decades of combined experience in the cannabis cultivation space, our team takes pride in combining leading-edge technology with unique growing methodologies to produce premium quality cannabis products.

Our state-of-the-art indoor facility was designed and built for the sole purpose of cultivating cannabis. Rather than using one large growing space, our facility houses multiple smaller growing rooms – each with its own custom designed irrigation, lighting and climate control systems. This approach allows for a higher degree of control over the environmental conditions throughout the various stages of growth – ensuring our plants maintain an optimal level of health and vigor.

We hang each and every branch we grow by hand in our custom designed drying chambers. Temperature, humidity and airflow are all monitored and adjusted as needed to help preserve natural taste and aroma of the flowers.

Cannabis flowers grow with a variety of unique shapes and sizes. Hand trimming allows our team to showcase the natural beauty and character of the buds. While machines may be quick, we opt to take the slower approach – treating each bud with the attention to detail it deserves.

AtlantiCann Medical is majority owned by the Mi’kmaq First Nations of Nova Scotia.

We are proud to be producing quality cannabis in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People.

The 8-point star, a symbol very important to the Mi’kmaq community, often presents with 4 colours signifying unity between the four races of people as well as the 4 directions (North, South, East and West), emphasizing balance within oneself and mother earth.

We are proud to embrace these values and provide Mi’Kmaq product to NS and across the nation.

About our brand:        Msiku (m-see-goo)

The Mi’kmaq have been inhabitants of what is now known as Nova Scotia since time immemorial and our traditional lands are known as Mi’kma’ki (Mig-mah-gi).  Our documented history goes back over 13,000 years.

There are 13 Mi’kmaq communities in Nova Scotia, and in fact, the Mi’kmaq are the only First Nation tribe that have historically inhabited Nova Scotia.  Today, we are proud to share our lands and history with all Nova Scotians.

While it remains true that Canada’s Indigenous Peoples have higher levels of poverty than non-Indigenous Peoples, it is very important to the Mi’kmaw to participate in economic opportunities to better assist our people.  When cannabis was first legalized, we saw a new and growing industry and knew we had to participate.

We are proud to be 51% owners of the Atlanticann Medical Inc. licensed production facility and are excited to offer our first brand to market: Msiku.

Msiku (m-see-goo) is the Mi’kmaw word for grass.  Humour is very important in Mi’kmaq culture, and when naming our first brand, we wanted to ensure that we captured our language, culture and who we are as people.  We are sure that you will see and appreciate how this tongue-in-cheek name reflects that humor!

We hope you enjoy what we have laboured to produce.
